Arizona

Arizona is a beacon of the west.  In the United States, it is one of the toughest on illegal immigration.  On the softer side, it has the largest percentage of its land set aside as Indian lands.  It has always been a great place to live, with a good handle on crime and poverty.  Those that do not reside there, often find themselves visiting many of the tourist locations throughout the state.  Arizona is a beautiful place to visit with many wonders, natural and man-made.

While in the great state of Arizona one can find themselves looking out over the vast horizon at the Grand Canyon.  It is one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in the country and it resides in Arizona.  The wonders do not stop there.  The Colorado River runs through the state, flirting with the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert.  Spread throughout the state is multiple caves, valleys, and canyons.  It is also home to Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater, and the Superstition Mountains.  For history buffs, it is the home of Tombstone, the infamous city in the west that lives in folklore.  It is not the only ghost town in the state, but is at the top of the list in notoriety.   Arizonans get to enjoy the benefits of their state on a regular basis, and it would not be too difficult to become one.

Feel like checking this state out on a more permanent basis?  Here are a few things you didn’t know!

  • The amount of copper on the roof of the capitol building is the equivalent to nearly 5 million pennies.
  • Ironically, the state leads the nation in copper production.
  • The USS Arizona was named for the state and commissioned in 1913 and launched in 1915 from the Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York.
  • The original London Bridge was shipped stone by stone and rebuilt in Lake Havasu City.
  • Dubbed the 48th state, it was admitted on Valentine’s Day, 1912.

With so much to see and do, it almost makes Arizona a great place to call home.  Just hope finding a home is easier than deciding on where to live!
